Calling For Helpers with Better Call Sy is a project rooted in what makes Pittsburgh special: neighbors supporting neighbors. Inspired by Fred Rogers’ timeless reminder to “look for the helpers,” our mission is to shine a spotlight on the incredible organizations working every day to lift up our community — and to inspire Pittsburghers to move from passive appreciation to active involvement.

We believe awareness is only the beginning. By sharing these stories, volunteering our time, and putting our own hands in the pile, we aim to build real connections between people who want to help and organizations that need it most. Together, we can strengthen our neighborhoods, support those doing vital work, and build a bridge to the future of Pittsburgh.
